Celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the HKSAR
To commemorate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Hysan Development presents “Summer Blossoms by Lee Gardens”, a magnificent floral art piece so as to bring further joy to the Hong Kong public in this special occasion.
Blooming along a dynamic pathway in the shape of the number “25”, the floral installation symbolizes the joy of the anniversary and a promising future with the support of our Motherland.
Taking inspiration from traditional paper art, local artist Joe Wong created this installation with a plethora of red and golden “Lee Gardens Flowers” to celebrate our beloved city’s important milestone.
The production is supported by Wofoo Leader’s Network of Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Kwun Tong) and Women Sewing Union, a non-profit organisation, which strives to pass on art and craftsmanship to the next generation local craftspeople. The team spent more than 2,000 hours within one working week to produce 5,000 of these gorgeous and festive “Lee Gardens Flowers”.
Hysan is renowned for its sustainability mindset. “Lee Gardens Flowers” are made of polypropylene which will be upcycled into small study desks after the completion of the display and will be donated to underprivileged families and children with learning disabilities. Students with special education needs are also invited to design household items based on their imaginations under the theme of “My Family”. Their concepts will be realised, exhibited and donated to them to further strengthen the bonds of the community.
“Summer Blossoms by Lee Gardens” starts from 27 June 2022 at Lee Garden One and at Hysan Place. The public is welcomed to visit and to celebrate HKSAR’s 25th anniversary.
